SCADC, in cooperation with the Asia Foundation, came up with the Questionnaires that were to be used during the Focus Group Discussions (FGD) for the International Logistics Survey. The objectives of the FGD were:
To inform key players
of an initiative to conduct a survey and to discuss its methodology, specifically in the areas of:
- Target Population
- Manner of approaching population
- Manner of evaluating
On March 13, 2008, SCADC, together with Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA), tested the questionnaire by conducting a FGD with key players in the logistics industry operating within the two Freeports.
The exercise led to the development of baseline information on the needs of logistics
players within Clark and Subic Freeports, while, at the same time, rapport was established with the
participants of the exercise. Succeeding planning
workshops sponsored by SCADC and CILA with the key players in the industry led to the proposal of establishing an association of logistics players in Central Luzon.
The proposed association is envisioned to be a partner in promoting the further development of the
industry within the area. Several prospective
players have made commitments to join and participate in this program and are now in the
process of seeking accreditation for the group from among the various national logistics organizations like the
Philippine Institute of Supply Management (PISM) and the
Supply Chain Management Association of the
Philippines (SCMAP).
