In order to promote the Hub as a major player
of the existing global supply chain, the SCAD Council
seeks to address the urgent need to have a strong
linkage with the top logistics centers of the Asia-Pacific
Region.
To further this end, teams led by Sec. Edgardo Pamintuan have been attending international
conferences and conducting missions in order to raise the competitiveness of the Hub.
On April 2008, Sec. Pamintuan attended the
3rd Party Logistics Summit in Singapore where he met
with the primary players of the Asia-Pacific Supply
Chain. His successful networking has motivated the
SCAD Council to hold an International Logistics
Summit in 2010.
Meanwhile, CIAC Chairman Nestor S. Mangio and SCAD Council Chief of Staff Linda B. Pamintuan visited
the Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) and
the Logistics Center and Rail Complex in Victorville,
California, together with an SBMA Team headed
by Senior Deputy Administrator Ferdinand Hernandez.
In his report, Chairman Mangio noted the similarities
between the Victorville complex and the ports of Subic
and Clark, being former military installations of the
United States, thus, making the development of
Victorville an ideal model in developing the SCAD
Corridor. The management of the SCLA and the
Victorville Logistics Center also signified their interest in establishing an alliance with the SCAD Logistics Hub.
In November of 2008, Sec. Pamintuan and CIAC President Victor Jose Luciano visited Kuwait to
observe the logistics operations of Kuwait and Gulf Link (KGL) Transport Co., one of the foreign companies that
signified their interest in developing the Clark
aviation complex.
